First Class are taught by Ms. Mahony in Room 5.
Room 5 have been a very busy room since the beginning of this school year. We have been practising our reading, writing and maths skills, learning lots of songs and creating artistic masterpieces. All the boys and girls have been having fun working, playing and creating things together.
In November we carried out some exciting science experiments during Science Week. Here are some photos of the fun we had with marbles and learning about forces!
The boys and girls have been busy showing off their creative and artistic skills in Art. We have used paint, fabric, wool and paper. Here are a few images of the masterpieces we have created together since September.
In maths, we have been learning about a huge range of topics, from addition to subtraction, money, shape and space and length. Everyone is trying very hard with counting, estimating, problem solving and station games. They are also doing a fantastic job with our addition tables. Most recently we have been learning about length and Ms. Leddy helped us measure our feet (which was great fun to do!) where we had to estimate first and then use a range of objects to measure and compare. Take a look at a few of our results.
